HAPPY HOLIDAYS: IN A NEW OLD-FASHIONED WAY
OCTOBER 21, 2008 TUESDAY (NEW ULM, MN) – Something special is coming around the bend for your Christmas holidays this year. What is it?.
It's a "new old-fashioned" CD-recording by southern Minnesota musicians, Molly and Sonny Boy.
The 10-track holiday CD is called, "The Molly and Sonny Boy Christmas Show.
What makes this holiday CD different than all the rest?
Well, first of all it's arramged in the "rhythm 'n blues grass" style of music, a genre uniquely created by Molly and Sonny Boy to differentiate them from the pack of commerical mainstream music artists.
“Rhythm 'n blues grass music” is an intriguing layering of multiple percussive instruments in a
counterpuntal, harmonic and melodic stream that is bouncy, happy and rhythmic.
Molly and Sonny Boy blend the familiar vocal lyrics of popular Christmas songs, including such well-loved favorites as "Do You Hear What I Hear," "Jingle Bell Rock," and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," with intriguing harmonica licks and phenomenal guitar-playing that will conjure up memories of cozy winters. tasty snacks and family gatherings around the hearth, while also tossing in some musical surprises, like a welcome burst of sunshine on a winter's day.
One such surprise is a lovely original holiday song they wrote, called, "Christmas Reminds Us."
In the spirit of "What Child is this?" based on the familar "Greensleves," Molly and Sonny Boy chose to use a traditional English melody, found in an old lament called, "Early One Morning," but created their own Christmas lyrics. The melody of "Early One Morning," is familiar to many, however, in Molly and Sonny Boy's arrangement the song modulates, or changes key over 7 times in the song.
Copies of "The Molly and Sonny Boy Christmas Show" CD are available now at
http://cdbaby.com/cd/mollysonnyboy
"The Molly and Sonny Boy Christmas Show" CD is also available in digital download, and single download format at http://cdbaby.com/cd/mollysonnyboy as well.

Here is Rascal's Haiku:
It is a summer night - hot, moist, and sweaty
I go out and I come in at my leisure,
I heard your spoon on the side of your bowl go "Clink"
Therefore my instinct dictates that I sit on your lap and beg for milk
Your Froot Loops called when I heard you pour that white, tasty, wet refreshment
The silky beverage which I lick my lips with my pink tongue at the thought and anticipation of enjoying soon..
In my beggary, and with great rejoicing I look forward to licking the bowl with my mouth and furry whiskers.
Milk, the perfect food for a perfect cat

Molly's new poem, "A Cat Will Find A Lap"
A cat will find a lap
A dog would love a pat
And you will always know where you can find me
If you just need a cuddle
It won't be any trouble
You're the one I want to hug both day and night
A cat will find the time
when you least expect it
to give you a chance to scratch it's chin
You'll hear a pleasant purring
No fussing and no stirring
As the cat sits so contented unafraid
A cat will find a lap
A dog would love a pat
And you will always know where you can find me
Cuz if you wanna dance
Or feel like some romance
I'll come running faster than a jiffy
If you need a stand-in or if you need a hand-out
I can be the one to fit the bill
If there is something I can do to make you happy
I will try my best to do my part
If fireworks and thunder are what the doctor ordered
I'll take the rumble and the roar of a jet plane
I'll fix you up a cocktail of dynamite rock and roll
My smoke signals will spell out “I love you”
I'm drawn to all your charms
I can't resist your arms
I want to hold you when I get the chance
Just like a cat will find a lap
A dog would love a pat
And you will always know I'm on your side
I am that silly cat who wants to jump into your lap
And just like Good old Yeller, I'll want you as my feller
To be your faithful pet forever more!
Why Pay for Play Sucks the big one!
I feel that Broadjam, Sonicbids and all those pay for play type websites that scam young artists are a crock.
The assumption is that you as a musician suck so therefore you need to pay some other persons for the opportunity to listen to your hard work and talent.
What a load of sh**.
You are great. Believe in yourself.
Every star you ever met, or will ever meet has self-esteem.
Someone said, going through life with low self-esteem is like driving a straight-stick with the hand-brake on.
Get into yourself, not over yourself. As I said, You have to believe in yourself.
Listen to Molly and Sonny Boy's music.
Do we have to pay someone to hire us, to buy our music?
NO. Will we make it? Yes, we already have...in our minds. That is the start of all success.
Hear some of our goodstuff right here:
I am giving you some free samples for you to see, hear and enjoy today- REMEMBER future fellow stars,
THESE ARE ALL ORIGINAL HOMEMADE, HEARTFELT SONGS FROM MUSICIANS WHO ACTUALLY GET PAID TO PERFORM. WE HAVE NEVER EVER BENEFITTED FROM PAY FOR PLAY!
We got the INTERNET and we got our self-esteem intact.
Amen. (There I said it--thanks David Spade for that saying!)
Good luck artists. If we can do it, so can you!
Remember BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.
PS. For some inspiration~listen to the lyrics of this song folks!

WEIGH YOURSELF ON FINAL DAY: MONDAY__________________
**1st is magic stone
You must walk alone OR with a pal to the local river (a mile or more away from your home) 3 times a week and toss in a stone
BREAKFAST: every morning you must eat a bowl of oatmeal with milk and dates/raisens and a half a grapefruit. Take a mult-vitamin.
snack if you need one you must eat gather the nuts and crack a few.
LUNCH: every day for lunch you must eat 2 eggs (any way) 1 large salad an a large bowl of vegertarian soup.
Snack: you may have a cup of plain yogurt with fruit or plain banana
SUPPER: For supper you must eat only a baked potato topped with sour crème and chives
and or chedder cheese. Or a hot tomato/fake meat topping with a side order of steamed vegetables and for dessert you may have 1 or 4 things: 1) some homemade popcorn, 2) low fat frozen fruit bar 3) or individual small bag of doritos/chips the portion controlled size 4) or ½ cup cottage cheese with cling peach or cherries
Fill your tummy with coffee, a balance of meaningful activities: play, self, work, and time for love.
You WILL most likely lose weight if you adhere to this plan. You won't if you don't.
Technical: A good partner will help you to lose weight by giving moral support.
External: the foods you need will be have to be there; don't fortify yourself with anything but the above; so go grocery shopping
Psychological: you can lick the fat and do it together with one you love who loves you!!
Molly's Big Dreams for the next 7 months
Things I have decided what I want to do in 2007:
1. A clean neat home (organized, simplified, beautiful and comfortable!) How to? Help, of course! Have 20 music students..teach large groups and community ed.
2. A hit album (s) (over 20,000 sold!) engineered, written, produced by own label, Molly and Sonny Boy! There needs to be a headliner functional song or two.
3. I want to earn over $30,000 this year as a writer, singer-songwriter, DJ and music teacher.
4. Get the 323 house sold..get student loan paid down.
5. Get torn rotator shoulder fixed. Work out and get fit…get supertight, fit and strong and 120 lbs.
6. Develop financial plans to build wealth, that is, save money and build interest gains from investing in CD’s and mutual stocks.
7. Get debt-free. Pay off loans.
8. Get rid of excess clutter. Travel to New York, to L.A. and win 10 talent contests. Earn at least $10,000 dollars in prize money! (Hear Molly and Sonny Boy
9. Enter 25 songwriting contests with our original songs. Spend $500 on this.
10. Do 125 paying gigs in 2007. The best way…just ask and do DVD’s and email packets.
11. Get really great on guitar, piano and sing greatly. Write 1000 new songs in 2007, and publish 29 new CD’s on the market for sale.
12. We have finished recoring our new CD, but still need to get it printed and packaged. Get into CD Baby, and get 100 new CD's made for marketing and distribution at gigs and online!

Q: What's brown and sits on a piano bench?
A. Beethoven's last movement!
Q: What's black and lays on a piano bench?
A: Our kitty named "Rascal."

Rascal muses. "Just as long as I have a soft, satiny place to sleep on life is grand!"
