New music venue opening in New Ulm, The Grand's Grand Opening

A new venue in New Ulm has just opened, and their grand Opening will be next Saturday night, the venue located in the Old Grand Hotel at 210 North Minnesota Street, in New Ulm, Minnesota appropriately called The Grand opening will be on Saturday Feb. 6, 2010 called the Grand Kabarat. It is a wine bar with live music. We will be appearing for a few songs on the eve of the Grand Opening. We will do Cabaret-style numbers including banjo on "Dream a Little Dream of Me," as you can hear in this video, and a few other snazzy, jazzy and original songs including "I Cleaned Up My Act but Now it's Dirty Again," off our CD release, Rhythm 'N Blues Grass available now at CD Baby Admission is free and we hope to see you there. The director of the Grand, Alexander Roth will open the set with the song "Cabaret." Enjoy Molly and Sonny Boy, Jim and I, singing for you "Dream a Little Dream of Me."

Thursday is here!

Well, here we are Thursday and my husband is sleeping after playing guitar for an hour while I was in bed. He works overnight, and I work days.
I was delighted to rehearse yesterday morning with my husband, the Sonny Boy half of our music duo, Molly and Sonny Boy.
We are singing some really fun songs these days. Here is a video clip of us practicing "Let's Duet," from the comedy Walk Hard.

a good practice last night

I hope that your week is going fine. Last night for about 3 hours we practiced our music in preparation for our upcoming performances. In our show we are including many fun songs we hope you will enjoy.

A new gig on the way for St. Patty's Day

Hi friends,
A new day and a gig for my original music duo Molly and Sonny Boy. This St. Patrick's Day, that is Wednesday March 17th, we are booked to do 3 45-min sets of rousing and relaxing Irish and English ballads and jigs at the Loose Moose Saloon in Mankato, Minnesota from 6-9pm.
Do plan to stop out, admission is free and the green beer will bring you cheer.
If you will arrive for happy hour between 5-7 you can avail yourself of the specials.

2 gigs on the way, Feb. 5, 6th

Hope you are having a great Monday, and all is well.
Our music duo, that is my husband and myself, Molly and Sonny Boy are working on a lot of fun duets for our upcoming shows.
We are going to perform a 1 hour set at Smiley's Tavern at 425 North State Street
New Ulm, MN 56073-1862 on Friday Feb. 5th, from 9-10pm.
Some of the duets we will performing include songs such as "Something Stupid," and "Let's Duet." Both shows are free and open to the public.
Also, on Sat. Feb. 6th, 2010, we are going to perform a few numbers (4 or 5) at the Rhein River Arts Center, now a cabaret known as the The Grand Cabaret located at 210 N. Minnesota St. New Ulm, Minnesota.
We wish the best of luck to John and Anne Makepeace on their new business adventure.
Hope folks will suppor the local music scene in New Ulm.
